Timeline One - From Nothing to Lucy

(If you wish to see the other timelines, head to the Timeline Homepage). This is the place for all the events that take place in the first book of From Nothing to Us, From Nothing to Lucy. It goes from the beginning to time (c. 13,799,000,000 BCE) to around when the Austrolopithecus named Lucy lived (c. 3,200,000 BCE). Not much else to say, really. Read away.

Well, actually, for how I have the minor warning that this won't be very filled out for a little bit. I'm working on it slowly, though.

The Timeline Itself

• c. 13,799,000,000 BCE - The effective beginning of time as we know it. The universe rapidly expands from an extremely hot and dense state until the first atomic nuclei, mostly those of hydrogen and helium, are able to form.
• c. 13,798,630,000 BCE - Atoms are able to form and exist for more than a fraction of a second for the first time. The Cosmic Microwave Background is born in this moment as light is able to fly free through the universe.
• c. 13,699,000,000 BCE
• The first stars may have formed from collapsing clouds of dust at this time.
• This starts up the reionization of the interstellar gas of the universe.
• A possible date for the unconfirmed oldest star we know of: HD 140283.
• c. 13,599,000,000 BCE
• The first stars, mostly Population III, but also some of the first Population II, begin to shine en mass.
• The confirmed oldest star forms: SMSS J031300.36-670839.3. Very easy to pronounce.
• c. 13,539,000,000 BCE - Population II stars begin to dominate star formation.
• c. 4,544,000,000 BCE - The Earth forms.
• c. 3,900,000,000 BCE - One of the earliest estimates for the first life on Earth. Some estimates go back to the formation of Earth itself.
